Today, I’ve got something extra special planned for us. I’m inviting you to come on an Outdoor Painting Adventure.

But first, a story.

Yesterday I went for a walk with a new friend here in Tamworth. She was sharing about the work she’s done with children on holiday camps, how she’s taken them out on hikes and found many children from cities have never hiked, or really spent any time in nature before.

For some children, it was so foreign, they didn’t realise they could use their hands to help themselves climb over boulders. And how would you know that, if you’ve only ever walked on pavements?

How do we know anything when we haven’t been shown or experienced it before?

It brought home to me, just how important some of the basic things we take for granted are.

I was sharing with her how I find it a challenge to communicate the value of painting, because I’m so close to it and have had it as part of my life for so long. I can’t imagine not painting.

Just like she couldn’t imagine not knowing how to climb over a boulder.

And yet, those things, creativity & nature, are part of our deepest DNA. Ancient cultures have been living closely with nature for centuries, and art has been an integral part of the human experience for just as long.

There was no division of “You’re creative and I’m not,” like we see in our culture today. Creativity was an accepted, normal activity that at times was sacred, and at times a practical necessity.

Yet, we’ve stepped away from this connection, and now so often find ourselves looking for someone else’s creation to consume; movies, Netflix, Hallmark greeting cards, social media. And we forget the intrinsic creativity inside us. The creativity that’s longing for us to engage with it.

Our creativity begs us to turn inward, instead of outward.

To listen to ourselves.

To slow down and make room for our own voice.

To make listening to our own wisdom, our own stories, a priority.

So, that’s why I’m delighted to invite you on this painting adventure!

Because, you don’t need to think of yourself as creative, or be a professional artist to join in. This is perfect for beginners with absolutely no experience in painting, or if you’re simply looking for inspiration in your creative life.

I believe with all my heart that you are creative.

I know how important it is to have a creative outlet, for our health, emotional wellbeing and deep satisfaction in life, and I’m passionate about sharing tips to help you nurture your creativity.

So today I’ve got an extra special video I’m super excited to share with you…

I’m inviting you to join me on an Outdoor Painting Adventure.

In nature.

With inspiration all around us, so you don’t have to come up with all the answers.

In fact, you don’t even have to know what you’re going to paint before you begin.

You’ll pick up my tips and tricks to avoid any pitfalls, know what materials you’ll need (they’re very simple and you probably already have most of them stashed away in your cupboard), and we’ll dissolve any ‘creative blocks’ along the way.

You’ll be surprised by what you can create 🙂

Make sure you download the accompanying guidebook – it’s got your materials list & tips so you can enjoy your own playful & inspiring afternoon of painting.

As I love to say to Andrew & our puppy dog Lacey Jane, “Come on. Lets go on an adventure!!!”

I can’t wait to hear how you feel after watching the video, and of course I’m so happy to answer any questions you may have about the process.

‘See you’ in the comments.

Be kind to yourself, and nurture your creativity.

PS. We had so much fun filming this video for you. Being surrounded by nature, making art, watching birds and collecting beautiful things…. ah… now that’s what I call a great afternoon!

I’d love to inspire you to do the same, either by yourself or with loved ones. It’s a truly nourishing experience. Come and play with me in this fun-filled Outdoor Painting Adventure!
